During World War 2 the Germans made an extensive system of coastal fortifications along the western coast of Europe as a defense against an anticipated Allied invasion of the mainland continent from Great Britain.

In Denmark some 600 bunkers was build at the Western Coast, but now some 70 years later 100 of them will finally be removed.

They have in several years been very dangerous for people bathing, as the bunkers has been moved out in the water, eroded and then the iron is posing a lifetreatening dangerous to tourist bathing.

The price for removing the bunkers will be nearly 10 million danish kroner, and each local government has also to pay 20.000 kroner for each of the bunkers to be destroyed completely and removed.
